Abstract:In order to improve the beamforming robustness of microphone array with mismatch errors in actual environment,a robust frequency invariant beamforming algorithm is proposed based on linear constrained minimum variance diagonal loading method. In this proposed algorithm, the spatial response variation function is incorporated with linear constrained minimum variance beamforming algorithm, and the two norm of the weight vector of beamformer is constrainted into inequality, then the analytical solution and global optimal solution for the weight vector can be solved by using Lagrange multiplier method and CVX iterative, which can improve the robustness of frequency invariant beampattern,as well solve the mismatch error caused by uncertainty in microphone gain, phase or position.Simulation results illustrate that Lagrange multiplier method of the proposed algorithm outperform CVX iterative solution in improving the robustness of frequency invariant beamformer.

      2016, 8(1):41-45. DOI: 10.13878/j.cnki.jnuist.2016.01.004

Abstract:For a class of cube satellites using 3-axis magnetorquers in low earth orbit,an adaptive tracking control method is presented based on weighted multiple-model method,in order to make the attitude control system track the attitude variation within the tolerant error range quickly and precisely.First, mathematic models of attitude control system at different equilibriums are obtained to form multiple-model structure which can be controlled by adjusting weights online based on model-matching performance index.Next,a dynamic adaptive neural network is embedded into the multiple-model control loop to eliminate the influence of earth magnetic field variation in-orbit operation, and also deal with uncertain external disturbances to improve the robust control performance, due to the good approximating ability of dynamic neural network for uncertain nonlinear function. Finally, the numerical simulation is performed for a certain cube satellite, and the results show that the control method presented is effective.

      2016, 8(1):46-55. DOI: 10.13878/j.cnki.jnuist.2016.01.005

Abstract:Roots play an important role in the growth and development of plants,as well as ecosystem functioning and carbon cycle processes.Contemporary methods for evaluating root parameters such as diameter, biomass, spatial distribution and three dimensional architecture are time-consuming,labor intensive, and destructive to the roots. The Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) is a relatively new geophysical method with applicability to plant root studies with unique advantages over traditional approaches. This article first introduces the principles of GPR as related to plant roots detection, and then reviews existing researches concerning the application of GPR to plant root mapping, root diameter and biomass estimation. The main factors affecting GPR efficacy for plant root detection are discussed from different aspects including the GPR system, plant root characteristics, soil physicochemical properties, and so on.Future research should focus on studying into the mechanisms of detecting plant roots using GPR and improving the ability of GPR to detect plant roots under field conditions, with purpose to fully explore the potential of GPR in plant root detection.

Abstract:Poyang Lake is the biggest freshwater lake in China, where water level and surface area are crucial parameters to the lake ecosystem. This paper studies into the mathematical relationship between water level and area of Poyang Lake, with purpose to estimate the lake area by water level through model simulation. The EFDC(Environmental Fluid Dynamics Code) hydrodynamic model is used to simulate the daily variation of Poyang Lake area in typical hydrologic years. Then the statistical relationship functions are developed between simulated surface area and actual water level data which were collected from four hydrologic observation stations including Kangshan,Tangyin,Duchang and Xingzi.Furthermore, the statistical relationship is verified by remote sensing data. The results indicate that the water level and area of Poyang Lake are highly dynamic during typical hydrologic years, yet the EFDC based method can estimate the Poyang Lake area with relatively high accuracy, with the average relative error being 4.14%.

    • Spatiotemporal variation and abrupt change analysis of sunshine duration in Gansu in the last 50 years

      2016, 8(1):64-70. DOI: 10.13878/j.cnki.jnuist.2016.01.007

      Abstract (896) HTML (0) PDF 1.21 M (2122) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:Monthly sunshine duration data collected in 26 weather stations in Gansu province from 1961 to 2010 were used to analyze the spatial and temporal variation and abrupt change of sunshine duration by using methods of climate tendency rate analysis, anomaly analysis,Mann-Kendall,spatial analysis, and power spectral analysis. The results showed that in the period from 1961 to 2010,the sunshine duration decreased very slowly with linear trend rate of -0.29 h/(10 a) but there was a pronounced and significant decrease phase from 1997 to 2010 with linear trend rate being -109.8 h/(10 a).Sunshine duration in summer and winter was on the decline, while it showed an increasing trend in spring and autumn. The annual sunshine duration was much less than normal in 1980s but extremely excessive since the 1990s.The results indicated that there were obvious spatial differences of the sunshine duration in Gansu province. The distribution trend of sunshine duration basically showed a gradually increasing situation from southeast to northwest. The results of Mann-Kendall and Yamamoto test indicated that there was no significant mutation for seasonal sunshine duration.Analysis of power spectrum showed that the sunshine duration of Gansu had quasi-periodic oscillation of 2-year and passed the 90% confidence level test.

      2016, 8(1):76-82. DOI: 10.13878/j.cnki.jnuist.2016.01.009

      Abstract (872) HTML (0) PDF 5.30 M (2191) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:The quantitative impact in terms of moisture supply of typhoon Goni on heavy rainfall of typhoon Morakot in Taiwan has been studied in the paper using the weather research and forecasting (WRF) numerical model based on NCEP/NCAR reanalysis data. The numerical analysis indicates that the intensity of typhoon Morakot was enhanced by continuously positive vorticity and water vapor supply from typhoon Goni that kept the persistent power of typhoon Morakot during its lifetime in Taiwan. The results of the simulation are consistent with the observations.Furthermore,a specific experiment of WRF numerical simulation in which typhoon Goni was filtered out was carried out, which shows that the typhoon Goni contributed about 30% in power and water vapor to the heavy rainfall of typhoon Morakot in Taiwan.
