    • Computational efficiency of the identification methods.Part B: Iterative algorithms

      Abstract:This paper focuses on the computational efficiency of the least squares based iterative algorithms.The computational burdens of the least squares based iterative (LSI) algorithms are heavy due to computing large-size matrix inversion.In order to reduce the computational burdens,the block matrix inversion based LSI algorithms are presented.The proposed methods can reduce the computational cost through simplifying the implementation of the least squares based iterative algorithms,thus the estimation accuracies remain unchanged.The least squares based iterative algorithms and the block matrix inversion based LSI methods are studied for pseudo-linear regression systems,multivariate pseudo-linear regression systems and multivariable pseudo-linear systems.

      Abstract:Based on temperature data from 1 urban station and 4 suburban meteorological stations of Shijiazhuang city during 1962—2009,and using temperature comparative analysis and linear trend methods,the paper analyzes the characteristics and the increasing rate of urban heat island(UHI) intensity of Shijiazhuang,and its impact on the long-term trend of recorded surface air temperature change.Results show that UHI effect is obvious near Shijiazhuang urban station,especially for minimum temperature or night mean temperature.The strongest UHI intensity occurs in winter and the weakest in summer.Large diurnal variation is observed,with UHI intensity being the strongest in early morning,and the weakest in afternoon between 14:00 and 16:00 Beijing Time.For the past 48 years,UHI intensity undergoes a significant increase near Shijiazhuang urban station,and the increasing trend in minimum temperature is much more significant than that in the maximum temperature.The average increasing of UHI intensity around Shijiazhuang urban station reaches 0.19 ℃/(10 a)during 1962—2009,and the contribution of UHI increasing to surface air temperature increase is 67.9%,or in other word,about two thirds of the urban warming observed at the city station can be attributed to the rapid urbanization in the past half century.

    • Research on the characteristics of total solar radiation change at Yushu Meteorological Station and its influence on climate change

      Abstract:The meteorological observation data analysis showed that the total solar radiation at Yushu Meteorological Station from 1961 to 2011 presented a decreasing trend in recent 50 years.Analysis of variance showed that the mutation point of total solar radiation at Yushu Meteorological Station appeared in 1978.Before 1978,the total solar radiation was in an increasing trend,then it decreased and presented a decreasing trend after 1978.During years after 1978,the total solar radiation was relatively low,and the annual averge value was reduced by 583.89 MJ/m2 compared with that of years before 1978.At the same time,the reduced range of the total solar radiation was different for each month,which was maximum in August and minimum in June.The annual sunshine hours changed in accordance with the total solar radiation.Negative correlations existed between total solar radiation and the annual average temperature,the precipitation of summer and the annual evaporation.Analyzing results show that if the total solar radiation reduces by 100 MJ/(m2·a),then the annual average temperature will rise by 0.03 ℃,the precipitation from May to Septemper will increase by 3.0 mm,and the annual evaporation will increase by 21.0 mm.

      Abstract:From the viewpoint of the surrounding building's impact on calculated building's expanded width,the influence of the surrounding building on the equivalent area was analyzed under three cases:the surrounding buildings of the same height,higher or lower than the calculated building.Then it is concluded that the height,the relative location and surrounding degree of the surrounding building have a great influence on the equivalent area of a building,which can not be simply expressed by a constant location factor in the calculation of equivalent area considering the influence of the surrounding building.More precise calculations should be done according to the actual situation to improve the accuracy of the lightning risk assessment.

    • Comparative study in deriving green land based on vegetation indices

      Abstract:The paper preprocesses Quickbird high-resolution sensing images based on ENVI and uses 4 kinds of vegetation indices,Normalized Difference Vegetation Index(NDVI),Normalized Differential Green Index(NDGI),Soil Adjusted Vegetation Index(SAVI),and Modified Soil Adjusted Vegetation Index(MSAVI)to derive green land from Gulou district in Nanjing.Tacking the images with the programs of Matlab software,the paper analyses their gray image,histogram,binary image and variance and gives the result through C language.The experiments show that in this study area,SAVI and NDVI could derive green land well;mistakes and omissions appeared in NDGI and MSAVI deriving;MSAVI shows superiority in edge extraction of buildings and vegetation.

    • Climate characteristics and planting techniques in the main producing areas of the Camellia chekiang-oleosa in Dexing

      Abstract:As an important germplasm plant as well as oil plant with versatile economic and ecological values,camellia chekiang-oleosa is widely planted in Dexing’s mountainous regions.Researches on climatic characteristics and planting techniques for camellia chekiang-oleosa are of theoretical values and practical significance for biodiversity protection and economic plant development.The effect of meteorological factors on the quality of camellia chekiang-oleosa was analyzed using meteorological data of recent 50 years in Dexing.The planting techniques were elaborated for different growth stages.Results show that the climate in Dexing is suitable for cultivation of camellia chekiang-oleosa.Some useful cultivation and management techniques according to wild camellia chekiang-oleosa growth characteristics are put forward.

    • Geometric parameters mechanics optimization of soil sampling head

      Abstract:The rapid development of precision agriculture has given rise to the innovation of rapid soil sampling technology.Yet the research in the soil sampling head is still absent,which is important in sampling effect and efficiency.Based on the mechanical modeling of the sampling head of soil sampling device on tractor,and aimed at the problem in clayey soil sampling,this paper analyses the resistant force by the soil and internal stress of the sampling head under the working condition of spiral rail.Then a topology optimized mechanical method is found through lots of mathematical and physical calculation and data searching,which has been simulated and calculated by matlab.With the improved shape and geometric parameters from the simulation and calculation,the sampling head is optimized in adhesion decrease,resistance reduction and perfomance of soil removal.And the sampling head has longer service life after optimization.All the virtues have been confirmed by the practical use of soil sampling.

      Abstract:This paper designed a meteorological element detection robot through embedding the meteorological sensor into the C8051F120-based robot system.The robot can detect the meteorological information such as acoustic susceptance,temperature,moisture,atmospheric pressure,wind speed,wind direction.It can detect the pose of robot in real-time,through which we can carry out further research into autonomous navigation and environment modeling.The median filtering algorithm and curve-fitting were used to accurately measure the distance between the robot and obstacle based on the data collected by ultrasonic transducer.These experimental results provide references for the further research.

    • Application of wavelet packet-based EMD algorithm in ultrasonic echo signal de-noising

      Abstract:In this paper,an EMD (Empirical Mode Decomposition) algorithm based on wavelet packet transform is proposed and applied to ultrasonic echo signal de-noising.For the problem of mode mixing caused by the EMD decomposition of ultrasonic flaw signals with Gauss white noise,wavelet packet transform is applied to preprocess ultrasonic echo signal,and followed by EMD decomposition,finally the useful defect signal is reconstructed.The experimental results show that,this method has good de-noising effect with small waveform distortion of reconstruction defect signal.It is conducive to the further quantitative analysis of ultrasonic echo signal.

    • Improved QAM blind equalization algorithm based on constellation chart

      Abstract:Two improved blind equalization algorithms based on constellation chart are put forward,aiming to solve the high mean square error in MMA-Assisted Modulus Algorithm.Firstly,the 16QAM constellation chart information is used to increase the signal point number of cost function of MMA-Assisted Modulus Algorithm,thus get the improved blind equalization algorithm,which reduces the steady-state mean square error and slightly improves the convergence speed of equalizer.Secondly,integrate the improved blind equalization algorithm and decision direction algorithm,adjust the proportion of the two algorithm according to the mean square error,and get a hybrid algorithm,which can further reduce the steady-state mean square error.The acoustic channel simulation results show that the two improved blind equalization algorithms have smaller mean square error,and are suitable for applications with high accuracy requirement.

      Abstract:The high-performanced TI F2812 DSP processor is applied to design an ultrasonic flowmeter with simple structure.The flowmeter consists of a novel equilateral triangle shape with one ultrasonic transmitter and two receiving detectors,which can measure the transmission time at two directions simultaneously,thus avoid the error brought by asynchronous measurement.With an embedded keyboard and a 12864 displayer,the whole flowmeter is small in size and easy to handle.The hardware design is given in detail in the paper.Experimental results show that the presented flowmeter is feasible in fluid detection.

    • Mandarin Chinese tone recognition based on back-propagation neural network

      Abstract:The BP neural network is studied and applied to tone recognition in this paper,which is a frequently used pattern classifier.Based on analysis of training and recognition processes of BP neural network,we extract feature data reflecting the tone characteristics to build the classification eigenvector.The classifier is designed as a 3-layer BP neural network with one hidden layer,and applied to recognize the four tones of Mandarin Chinese.The recognition results by BP neural network with different hidden layer nodes are compared.The experiment result indicates that the audio feature extracted by this classifier is valid for Mandarin Chinese,and verifies its good classification performance.

    • Study on microwave absorbing properties of multi-walled carbon nanotubes

      Abstract:Multi-walled carbon nanotubes and large inner diameter-thin walled carbon nanotubes were respectively combined with paraffin wax in different mass ratio to prepare microwave absorption composites.The complex permittivity and permeability of the composites were measured,and the reflectivity of electromagnetic waves was calculated.The results show that maximum absorption of the multi-walled carbon nanotubes is about -21.7 dB at 10.4 GHz,and that of the Large Inner Diameter-thin walled Carbon Nanotubes is -17.6 dB at 11.2 GHz.

    • Research on ordered network structure of M≥8 great earthquakes and its prediction in Mainland China

      Abstract:China is one of the countries which have the most earthquake disasters in the world.A total of 23 M≥8 earthquakes occurred in Mainland China from 1303 to 2011.The seismic activity of M≥8 earthquakes has showed an obvious self-organized orderliness.The main ordered values are 252-258 a,108-112 a,94-98 a,44-47 a,24-25 a,16-19 a and 11-14 a.According to the information forecasting theory of WENG Wenbo and combining ordered analysis with complex network technology,we build the informational ordered network structure of M≥8 great earthquakes in Mainland China,and summarize the prediction research on two great earthquakes (the 2001 Kunlunshan M8.1 and the 2008 Wenchuan M8.0 earthquake) during the beginning of the 21st century in western Mainland China.At last,we present new prediction opinion that the future M≥8 great earthquakes will probably occur in 2022,2026,2045 and 2065 pre and post in Mainland China.The results show that an M≥8 great earthquake can be predicted and the network feature is the formation mechanism of great earthquakes.Ordered network method produces satisfactory results in moderate and long term prediction for M≥8 great earthquakes.

      Abstract:This paper studies consumption-portfolio and leisure choices in a life-cycle model with habit formation,stochastic opportunity set,stochastic wages and labor supply flexibility.In the case of stock dividend payments,the model of securities is established by the use of stochastic differential equations.Investors’ preferences are represented by the nonseparable von Neumann Morgenstern index.Finally,the explicit expressions of optimal choices are obtained for optimal consumption-portfolio and leisure.
