    • Stochastic gradient estimation algorithm for multiple-input systems based on the output estimation

      2010(6):481-488.

      Abstract (1034) HTML (0) PDF 1017.86 K (3033) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:For multiple-input single-output output-error systems,a difficulty is that the information vector in the identification model contains the unknown system outputs (true outputs or noise-free outputs),thus the standard identification algorithm cannot be applied directly. This paper presents a stochastic gradient identification algorithm based on the unknown output estimation. The basic idea is to replace the true output with the output estimate which is predicted/estimated by the estimated model, and also to compute the system parameter estimates by using the output estimates.Convergence of the proposed algorithm is studied and a simulation example is provided.

Abstract:The synthesis problem of sliding mode variable structure control is investigated for a class ofuncertain Delta operator system with internal parameter perturbation and external disturbance. The differences and similarities of designing sliding mode controller based on two types of idealreaching law and exponential reaching law.The proposed methodsbring previous related conclusions of continuous time system and discrete-time system into unified delta operator system.Slidingmode control system designed by employing two types of reaching lawsnot only can reach the region of the switching surface in finite time, but also decrease the system chattering effectively. The simulation results illustrate the the feasibility and validity ofthe proposed approaches.

    • The optical feedback effect on the fiber linear laser

      2010(6):519-523.

      Abstract (942) HTML (0) PDF 1.16 M (2367) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:In this paper,an optical feedback system based on fiber linear lasers is presented. The effects of optical feedback could be equivalent to the variation of laser cavity loss, and the output expression of the optical feedback system is deduced.A model is built to analyze the feedback influence on the system. The internal optical feedback effect on fiber linear lasers is similar to self-mixing interference, and the former has same phase sensitivity with the later. The influence from different parameters is analyzed in simulation. The system output is detected in experiment, and the influence of different parameters is also discussed by changing the experimental conditions. The experimental results show a good agreement with the simulated results. The conclusion can be summarized as follows:One fringe shifting of the system output corresponds to a target displacement of λ/2; the different inclination refers to different movement direction; the better sensitivity of optical feedback system can be obtained by choosing appropriate feedback cavity length and target reflectivity.Consequently, this system can be applied to optical survey, such as displacement, distance, velocity measurement, etc.

      Abstract (1083) HTML (0) PDF 1.16 M (2600) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:Based on the analysis of classical adaptive filtering algorithm,an effective speech enhancement algorithm is proposed, which could reduce noise and distortion effectively.According to the auditory masking properties, this algorithm uses masking thresholds of the key frequency segments as dynamic coefficients,to further improve the effect of speech enhancement and estimate error function dynamically.Signals with different SNR are input to simulate this proposed algrithm on Matlab. The high SNR and low residual noise of the output signals show that the algrithm is better than traditional filtering algrithms.

      Abstract (980) HTML (0) PDF 1.07 M (2430) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:Variable-weight optical orthogonal codes(VW-OOC) are put forward to provide differentiated quality of service(QoS) for different users.Due to its non-fixed code weight, the VW-OOC is larger in capacity than constant OOC.In this paper, the definition and the bound on capacity of VW-OOC are given. The method of designing VW-OOC is presented, and the structure results of the proposed codes are given. In the end,the bit error rate(BER) of multi-user interference for different number of code weight is compared through emulation and theoretical analysis. Results show that the BER of larger code weight is smaller while the number of code weight is the same, and the BER of larger number of code weight is smaller while the code weight is the same.

    • Research on effects of DEM uncertainty on topographic parameters and TOPMODEL

      2010(6):541-547.

      Abstract (1037) HTML (0) PDF 1.18 M (2426) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:DEM(Digital Elevation Model) is the digital representation of earth surface, which is used for enormous applications.Generally,DEM is employed without the analyses of its effects of both uncertainty and propagations on specific applications. In this paper, the effects of DEM uncertainty on the selected topographic parameters, such as the slope, upslope contributing area, the topographic index and TOPMODEL hydrological model, are analyzed in terms of the DEM uncertainty propagation.Furthermore, the effects of DEM uncertainty propagation on three topographic parameters are evaluated by using the simulation method of Monte Carlo, and then the effects of DEM uncertainty propagation on TOPMODEL is analyzed in the quantitative and qualitative aspects. This research shows that DEM uncertainty propagation almost certainly affects the slope, upslope contributing area and the topographic index as well.Among all of them, its effect on upslope contributing area is the biggest; while on the topographic index is the smallest. However, the effect of DEM uncertainty propagation on TOPMODEL is trivial and could be ignored in the applications.Further, the reasons can be found that on the one hand, the TOPMODEL is not sensitive to the distribution of topographic index; and on the other hand, the topographic index is affected limitedly by DEM uncertainty propagation.

      2010(6):573-576.

      Abstract (1043) HTML (0) PDF 1.18 M (2782) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:This paper introduces the idea of ROI (Region of Interest) to moving target detection and tracking research, and proposes the ROI labelling algorithm based on rectangular expansion. The algorithm can label moving targets in binary image quickly and accurately, thus separates moving targets from complex background effectively and improves the efficiency of moving target tracking. Comparison between this ROI labelling algorithm and traditional dynamic clustering algorithm shows that the former can label moving targets with less time complexity and higher efficiency.
