    Abstract:

    The temperature field distribution of the Back-to-Back Ω stator Transverse Flux Permanent Magnet Linear Motor (BBΩ-TFPMLM) is investigated via a magneto-thermal coupling approach.First,the 3D Finite Element Method (3D-FEM) is used to model,analyze and optimize the unique topological structure of BBΩ-TFPMLM,and determine the electromagnetic parameters in stable operation.Second,the magneto-thermal coupling is realized through Workbench and used to monitor the real time temperature rise,then the temperature field nephograms as well as temperature rise law of the loss model are obtained.Finally,verification tests on experiment platform reveal that the temperature rises of the stator core and the rotor core under rated current are 29.21 ℃ and 11.12 ℃,respectively,both of which are within a reasonable range.Moreover,the thermal imaging of prototype temperature distribution after 750 s operation are consistent with simulation results,verifying the feasibility of the proposed approach.
