    Abstract:

    Sea breeze front (SBF) is landward edge of the of the sea breeze circulation, which has the similar characteristics to the cold front. Because SBF can trigger strong convection and cause disastrous weather such as thunderstorms in coastal areas, it is the key object of coastal meteorological research. With the development of numerical models and computer technology, numerical simulation has become an important method in meteorological research. Therefore, the numerical simulation of SBF is attracting more and more attention. In the last 40 years, the numerical studies of SBF have been continuously developed in China. To deepen the understanding of SBF and do better research in the future, this paper summarizes the numerical simulation of SBF in China and focuses on the effects of environmental flow, topography, urban heat island and atmosphere stability on SBF. In addition, the influence of the physical parameterization on SBF and the work of large eddy simulation are summarized. Some issues are addressed for the further study.
