Simultaneous retrieval of aerosol optical depth and surface reflectance using single-satellite multi-angle method

    Abstract:

    This paper attempts to retrieve aerosol and surface optical properties simultaneously from multi-angle data observed by single satellite.A case study was conducted using the MODIS (Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer) 1B data of May 2009.The resulting aerosol optical depth was consistent with that of the aerosol product (MOD04),the correlation coefficient is 0.791 4.The comparison of the resulting land surface reflectance with that of the surface reflectance product (MOD09) also produced good consistency.The algorithm made a good attempt to retrieve the average of aerosol optical depth using single-satellite multi-angle observations data.
